About Us

 

Clean Slate Soap Company was founded originally as Crunchy Sisters in 2014 with the goal of providing people with an affordable alternative to the chemical laden products currently available on the market; however, the idea started long before our inception.

 

My name is Madison and I am the owner and founder of Crunchy Sisters. I have never been able to comfortably use mass produced products. My skin is very sensitive, and from a young age I had trouble finding products that wouldn't leave my skin dry and itchy. As I entered college, the issues with my skin became more prevalent and I found there was nothing I could use other than castille soap. Castille soap is boring, and I like the bathroom to smell like a perfumery when I get out of the shower, so I decided to start making my own all natural soaps that would be scented with Essential Oils. 

 

Upon discovering the art of soap making, a whole new world was opened to me. I knew that if I could make bar soap without causing an explosion (because lye has the ability to explode when mixed improperly), surely I could make myself other products as well. I began researching how products were made, their benefits, and the best ingredients to use for both quality and the effects they have on our skin. I rapidly became obsessed with having any product that I desired, always maintaining the condition that I had to make it myself so that I would not suffer the consequences of itchy, dry skin and rashes that would sometimes last for weeks. 

 

I began sharing my products with family members and they became something that people would ask for. In addition, I would get requests from friends for new things that they had heard of or liked, but they didn't want to pay the specialty store prices. I met as many needs as possible while continuing to insist that every part of a product be natural, healthy, and geared toward the idea that everyone has sensitive skin (it's always better to err on the side of caution with the largest and most visible organ that we have). 

 

Soon enough, my older sister planted the idea in my head that I should make my products available to others. I was not the only person plagued with sensitive skin and I was definitely not the only person who appreciated high quality products with strict standards. Since I refused to price my items at the level that most expect from the market (I like to remain reasonable, it shouldn't be expensive to be healthy), she thought I could really help people. With the assistance of my family and friends (especially my three sisters), Crunchy Sisters was born.
